Step by Step

Brad Stevens is changing the lineup for the game today against the Utah Jazz.
Read more about it here. Or continue reading for my opinions.

I don't know what to think anymore. At the beginning I though that the tough loses are good learning experiences and the players and the coaching staff are both going to learn from them. But as the loses added up and Stevens was making questionable coaching decisions I started to lose hope in those initial impressions.

Now I realize that obviously Stevens isn't taking these games one at a time but rather in blocks. This makes sense from a stats perspective because this way he has more realistic data. I think it's going to take some time for Stevens to completely figure out what he wants and I think allowing him to do so is more important that winning games. However, continuously losing games is bad for moral. And things are going to get really frustrating if a win doesn't come around every once in a while.

All we can do for now is look at the stats and how each player is improving. Individual and team accomplishments are going to have to take a step back for a while. Stevens needs to get his feet set.

Take your time coach.
