Mosaic Madness

It's that time of the year again. :-(

Just before Mosaic is when all the worst drama and annoyances and madness happens. In anticipation for something bad to happen at Mosaic. Hopefully nothing will go too badly on my end, but I don't understand why they give the job that creates the most unnecessary stress to the Youth. It's too much to handle.

The Youth Reps are given the job to manage all the entertainment at the pavilion. The entertainment is grouped by show, each show starts at the half hour mark and proceeds for approximately half hour. The time in between shows can be thought of a down time where everyone gets out of their seats to check out all the stuff at the pavilion. Some people think that the down time is very important because it's when the pavilion makes money. Therefore the demand is that the shows shouldn't be long, maximising the amount of down time. However there is also a demand from the performers to perform, as that is where the pavilion truly thrives - not in making money but in entertaining.

Needless to say, those people who want maximised down time are going to give me trouble all week. My game plan is to start the shows maybe up to five minutes early, and get through performances as fast as possible.

What really pisses me off is that our pavilion is entertainment driven, and it's run by a not-for-profit organisation, but for some reason entertainment isn't as important as making money.

That's my 2 cents.
