University #2 Packing

So I got a huge suitcase and started filling it with clothes. It's hard to imagine that I'm basically pressing the Reset button on my life, everything that I have here will be no more. Only what I take with me.

It's like a game of storage strategy. Take some things, leave some things, plan to take things next time. As I see it now I'll only be returning one time during the year.

Fall and Winter clothes are going with me this time. And Winter and Spring will go with me next time. I'm almost enjoying this game.

Except that it's so much more complicated because I have no idea what to expect. I'll take gym clothes too, but do I need a suit and tie? You'd think school supplies would be easy ... nope. First Aid kit? Ankle brace?

Something I read on the internet said I should take stuff to decorate my room. ................ Like what? I can't take my entire room!

Backpacks are another thing. I have at least six or seven of them and yes I want to take them all. They are all different and can all be used differently. Looks like I'm taking five of them.

Do I want to take some IB notes? I think that's a "definitely". Don't have to take Biology though!

Yes I realize this isn't my typical blog, but I actually am enjoying writing this way! It's refreshing and keeps the blog interesting without making me bored of writing.

Will I need Scotch tape?

Indian clothes? If I make good Indian friends they might invite me to festivals and stuff. It's hard to know whether I'll need certain things or not.

At this point I'm basically looking all over my room for any useful stuff.

I found my old Pokemon cards hahaha this is great!

I think I'm going to need a second suitcase, I have so much stuff. The plan is that I'm going to keep one of the suitcases at my dorm and it'll go under the bed as a storage space. But having two wouldn't be a bad idea either, I'm not taking any drawers so maybe the second one will be good.

My second suitcase is nearly full too! I went through all my school stuff and tried really hard to separate it. It was pretty easy, just time consuming. I still need to sort through pencils and stuff though. I got binders and folders but don't really have paper. I'm not sure how much I'll be using my computer.

Speaking of which I'd really like a huge external battery to charge my lap top during the day.

For now my packing is semi-finished, I've managed to pick a bunch of stuff I might take. I'll go through it all later to see if I really need everything I chose. We also need to purchase a few things - we only have a week!

So mom and I both woke up at 4am this morning and she randomly started doing packing stuff. I quickly took to the internet to find out what tips it has for me.

Apparently Christmas Lights is an important addition? Dorm rooms don't have the greatest lighting so people bring Christmas Lights to provide light and to set moods. Interesting choice. May or may not use this one.

Found an excellent site to remind me of all the useful stuff that I would never have thought to take. I probably would have forgot Q-tips.

It looks like I'm going to be forgetting a lot of things....

We went to Costco the other day and it looks like I found some of the things I was forgetting. New school supplies. Really need to get that organised.

On the bright side we were able to buy a few things at Costco - socks and boxers. Things I wasn't even planning on buying - Costco is just that good.

I sorted out all my Winter clothing stuff, can't believe I almost forgot it! When pulling it all out I was thinking "Wow, Winter clothing is the definition of familiarity." Oh, Canada.

I'm currently working on my bathroom supplies list. Arguably the most important ever. I'm thinking of taking two kits: one that has all my stuff I'll need (tooth brush, razor, soaps etc.) and another that has all back up stuff that I can live without (aftershave, my retainer, etc.).
I'll probably be updating this same blog when I get to the unfinished parts.

You can never be finished, I've moved in now and I'm having the time of my life. Go with the flow.
