My Galaxy Nexus

When I got my Galaxy Nexus (it was already a one year old model at the time) my dad asked if I would be able to handle having an old phone with old specs when all the new phones come out. I told him that software matters more and that with a Nexus I'll always have the newest phone because I'll always have the newest software.

I'm into my second year with my beloved Galaxy Nexus and it's still great! My dad should be happy that its not broken and still working in order. And I should be happy that I'm still running the latest version of Android (and hoping to get KitKat) and that I have a good phone that suits me nearly perfectly.

Except that as I've become more and more accustomed to Android, the testing nature of the platform and the "always on" trend of the mobile world. And I want to try it, rightfully so. Except my hardware has finally become an obstacle. The full 700mb of RAM on my Galaxy Nexus is not sufficient for Tasker, ActiveNotifications, or Ingress in addition to what I already use.

It looks like I'll be with my beloved Galaxy Nexus for around 10 more months, and I know I'm going to complain about it. But when I do, just know that there is a part of my that doesn't mean it, I love my Nexus. And it's already lasted a lot longer than other phones available at the time.
