Life Transition

Recently the high school to world transition has been on my mind. How some experiences for students (referring to high school) contain us within limitations set by age restrictions and general maturity levels but other experiences and programs are meant for students to get out and live out there.
What is interesting is not that students are exposed to these opposites, but that the transition itself is so difficult for so many people. Some of us who are ready to go out there are stopped due to unfair reasons, and those who do not get enough exposure are not ready for the world.
High schools need to be more integrated with the outside community. Recently I have been exploring into a new focus for the Business Club at our school. To gain connections that the different clubs, faculties, teachers, and students can actually benefit from. For example, a law company has come to us saying they are extremely interested in supporting us, and that they have four particular employees where part of their job is to come work with us. However great the potential is for this opportunity, the debate club would have much more use. SADD always gets the students to participate in anti-'drinking and driving' advertisements etc, they could easily contact DigitalSkies, a digital billboard company and make an ad there from the SADD club. We have connections with politicians, business owners of all types, that students can learn from. Furthermore they can learn from us (our education system is terrible).
It seems that the bottom line comes to the underestimation of students in today's world. Young people solve problems in new ways and in innovative ways. The thing about us taking over the world is looking to be the best thing for our globe. Let's hope it stays that way.
