Disney's Frozen Review

Just finished watching Frozen for the first time......
AND OH MY DID DISNEY FINALLY GET A PRINCESS MOVIE RIGHT!

Disney Animation has had a major issue with creating a classic film since as long as I can remember. For too long they produced films that were too sub par. Whether it was the story or the characters or the theme, something was off, especially with princess movies. If you look at a list of all of Disney Animations movies, you'll see these classics, with the perfect combination, become more and more infrequent.

In the Princess movie department there was a while where Disney just wasn't producing. Over the past 5 years there have been 4 Princess movies with mixed results. The Princess and the Frog, did anyone really watch that? Brave, good but not great (also a Pixar movie, may not count as Disney Animation) . Then there was Tangled and lastly Frozen. Tangled struck with audiences in the characters and theme department but I always felt it's story was lacking. It's the same old Rapunzel, nothing too original. But then came Frozen.

Frozen is all three. Amazingly relatable characters. A theme (and redefinition) of true love. And a story about sisters. There is no combination like it. And that is what makes it the greatest Princess movie in recent times.

Fun facts: this is the first princess movie directed (co-directed) by a female director. Why else do you think it gets Love right?

If they do make a Disney Princess cinematic universe, all the other movies better be like this one.
