Summer Job Search 2014

I feel very weird about applying for Jobs, as if there is nothing out there that I would be really happy with. I mean, I'm only 19 one year out of University - what kind of good job prospects can I have?

BestBuy would certainly be a step up from Quiznos, but it's not the job I want.

I want a summer student job with a reasonable pay and a lot of learning experience. Something I feel BestBuy would not be able to support. I want a job where every week I'm learning to do something new. Something to do with computers and programming, and good coworkers to learn from.

But none of the "big companies" would provide that for me. I'll apply to Saskpower, Sasktel, Shaw, and who knows what else but I don't think they would give a 19 year old a job I want.

Another option for me is to work with a smaller company, and engineering startup. Doing a lot of small and odd jobs for them, but learning a lot about engineering, business and management. However questions and doubts exist there too. Would they take me in? Pay me? How would I contact/find out about them?

Location is another thing. I feel like I can work wherever I can get a job, but at the same time I feel like I can't get a job (the kind of job I want) at all.

I guess I just have to find out more about my options and apply to as many places as I can.

Wish me luck,
Why is applying for jobs such a cloudy business?
Someone should make a business model for fixing that.
